A PENNY SAVED IS A PENNY EARNED

Image
I have always felt as though it is important to teach our kids the value of money. I don’t like the thought of spoiling them and giving them everything they want. I want to teach them it’s important to know that the things we want out of life, won’t be handed to us, but earned.  Earning money fall high in this category, it’s very important for me that they know what it means to save for what you want in life. I have been looking for the right tools to help my girls and teach them the true value of money.  With some research I have found that there is a product, which not only helps adults, but also children to understand the value of money. You will now have the actual tools to use with your kids to teach them about spending, saving and giving. There is a short pamphlet on the actual "teaching" and the rest of the package has the chore list, envelope system and tracking for savings.  This is a hand on tool that will give your children the reinforcement they need to be su...

Chuck E Cheese's New Pizza Recipe Review and Giveaway

Image
If your kids are anything like my own they know what are where Chuck E. Cheese is. After my daughters first visit we made detours to avoid driving by because she would cry wanting to stop by. So when I told her that we have the opportunity to review Chuck E. Cheese's new pizza recipe she was more then thrilled.  We were sent the Guest pass that gave us  a large pizza, 4 drinks and 30 tokens. This was more then enough for us to share, so we brought along my cousin and her little boy as well. Anytime we go to Chuck E. Cheese I also check my email to see the latest coupons they have, if you haven't already you can sign up for their news letter here. I'm a big fan when it comes to their pizza, so when I got the email I didn't think there was any way to improve something so good. Boy was I wrong. We ordered half cheese and half pepperoni. I could tell the sauce had a richer flavor and the crust was thinner (I'm a huge friend of thin crust). Not o...

Here Home Hope, Review

Image
Here Home Hope, Review I was giving the opportunity to review a copy of “ Here, Home, Hope”   by author Kaira Rouda. This book is a fictional story of one woman's courageous journey through midlife crisis and personal reinvention - all told with a sense of heart and humor.  I have to say I have been busy over the past month or so, that it has took me a while to calm myself to sit down and start this book. Once I was able to start it I couldn’t put it down. If you are like me and you like the drama type shows on TV them you will enjoy this book. Kaira Rouda is able to portray a mother and wife (Kelly Mills Johnson) in a way that we all feel at times like a mother that gives and gives of herself to everyone in the family, but forgets to take the time needed for herself. She sees what she has been missing and longing for in her life through her friends and she envies them. I don’t want to go into too much detail, because I don’t want to give the book away, but there are some les...

:: Closed:: Hasbro Perfection Review and Giveaway

Image
With summer here and school is out, most families will be traveling the roads. Parents are always looking for a great way to keep our kids entertained. We have been able to keep our kids entertained on rainy days with Hasbro board games, and now we can take that entertainment on the road with Hasbro travel size games! These travel size games brings the joy of the regular games such as perfection, hungry hippo, battle ship, connect four and so much more.  When I was chosen to review a copy of Perfection it brought back so many memories for me. I remember when I was younger and the anticipation of the timer going off and all the pieces popping out at you is great! I was able to share this experience with my daughter. She is four and learning her shapes and matching so this game is also a learning experience for her. She loves to try and beat the clock and still jumps (as well as I do) when the timer goes off and the pieces pop out ! Now time for the Giveaway! Please comment your fa...

Skin MD Natural Review and Giveaway

Image
During the transition of the seasons, my skin that is exposed to the elements tends to get pretty dry. I’m always on the lookout for skin care , moisturizer/lotion that I can use all over from head to toe. I’m looking for something that I can use on my face that won’t be to oily and break my face out, but something strong enough to take the dryness out of my hands. I constantly wash my hands and use hand sanitizer (I work in a hospital) so my hands tend to be on the dry side. In my search for a good lotion/moisturizer I had a chance to review Skin MD’s Natural Shielding Lotion. I have been very pleased with this product. I have been able to use Skin MD on my face as a moisturizer, and I have not had any problems out of it. I have found that with some moisturizers and lotions they can leave your skin feeling tacky or overly moist. Skin MD is a light formula and leaves my skin soft and smooth after applying. I’m always excited to come across skin care that I can you all year round! P...

Dressing up my home's patio area

Guest post written by Kimmy Hallman Making your home feeling like a luxurious space is something that you can do even if you live in a small place. It's all about what you do with the area that you have, not how much area you have. So the next little area of my home that I'm concentrating on so I can make my home its absolute best is my patio area. I've put a few pieces of random furniture to go with my grill in my patio area, but that doesn't really entice me to stay out there. But this space makeover is to make me actually use my grill a little more. I looked aroudn online to see what other people have done with the patio areas of their own homes nad while I was doing that I ran across some  get.wildblue.com . I looked into them a little bit more and after that I decided to take advantage of them. Well I know that I dfeinitely wnat matching furniture out there. I think it would also be neat to find an outdoor rug to put out there to make it feel like more of a homey...

Update on Everything

Hello Everyone!! I know it has been a couple of weeks since my last blog post, but the days in the Life of Nicole have been super busy! I have so much going on right now at times it can be over whelming! To start things off I have recently started back working, after taking a yearlong break from work to finish up school and to stay home with my daughter the last year before she starts preschool. It has been such a hard adjustment not being home with her every day and not having free time to get much needed chores done. It has been hard, but I think I’m finally finding a routine that works for me. I love my new job and the people I work with. It is hard to find a place where you can mesh with your coworkers so easy, but I have been lucky to find that place. With starting work, there are also a lot of things going on personally with me. I finally graduate college this month! May 10 th will be one of my proudest days. This has been a true hurdle for me to overcome. I never though...

Whats your Method?

Image
If you know me, or you have been following my blog you would know I love my clothes to smell fresh and clean after they have been washed! Don’t get me wrong, I know that they are clean, but I love to have the fresh laundry scent to reassure me ((smile)).  I was ecstatic to know I was chosen to do a review of Method Laundry detergent.  I have heard so many good things about them like it’s a smarter, easier, and greener product. ·       Smarter – one 20 oz. bottle can tackle 50 loads of laundry with a quarter of the dose of leading brands. ·       Easier – the precision-dosing pump can be used with one hand and prevents over usage. ·       Greener – method’s laundry detergent is made with 95% natural and renewable ingredients in a recyclable bottle.  To help get the word out about Method they are having a contest for all their fans!    Laundry Room Love is a crowdsourced music ...

Ji Ga Zo Puzzle Review

Image
The new revolution in puzzles is now here. With Ji Ga Zo Puzzle you are able to take your face and apply it to a puzzle. But this is not an ordinary puzzle. You are actually building the puzzle from scratch. What you do is you get a CD that you load onto your computer and you upload a picture of your choice. Now this part to me is tricking because you have to choose a picture that would turn out. You don't want anything with to much going on. The picture I used was a simple head shot of my daughter. I couldn't get any other picture to turn out just right. Now after you get your picture uploaded you simple print out a key that has different shapes and symbols on it. From there you match the shaded interlocking pieces to build your custom puzzle. The puzzle is very time consuming. I loved the idea of it, but it was harder to keep my kids attention with it. The age is from 8 and up, but I think it may be suitable for a higher age group. While...

Another Family Game Night! Hasbro Review/Giveaway

Image
If you are like me you are always on the lookout for ways to keep your family entertained and at the same time being able to spend time together.  I’m a big fan of Hasbro games, because they strive to do just that. I was thrilled when asked if I would like to review Scrabble Flash . I have never been big on Scrabble, because I’m the world worst when it comes to spelling. I have found with Scrabble Flash it’s more than that. With Scrabble Flash, not only is there a spelling aspect to the game it’s also a challenge within a challenge. I can remember sitting for hours playing Scrabble with my family, and now it seems impossible to keep my children’s attention. With Scrabble Flash I don’t have that problem. Like the original Scrabble you are trying to compose words, but the trick is you only have five letters and a short amount of time to come up with the word.  This game brings the excitement to Scrabble that younger kids might not find in the regular Scrabble board game. If yo...
